Developed in a team of five, this CNC milling machine was designed in SolidWorks for personal-scale manufacturing with an emphasis on cost-efficiency and functionality. The design was guided by extensive market research to meet performance needs while minimizing production costs. All mechanical components—including linear rails, lead screws, couplings, bearings, and fasteners—were selected off-the-shelf from McMaster-Carr to streamline sourcing and assembly. The machine supports wood and soft metal machining with a build volume of approximately 6 × 6 × 2 inches and an estimated positional tolerance of ±0.25 mm. Full 2D technical drawings were created to support manufacturing and ensure reproducibility.
