U of t-design league winner secure embedded vaccine transport
Awarded First Place in the 2021 University of Toronto Design League Competition, this 24-hour team challenge resulted in a functional prototype for secure, temperature-sensitive transport, inspired by COVID-19 vaccine logistics. The embedded system was built around an Arduino microcontroller and included a thermistor for monitoring internal temperature, a servo motor for locking and unlocking the container, a photoresistor to detect unauthorized access, and a keypad for secure entry. A full 3D CAD model was also developed using Fusion360 to represent a future iteration, incorporating recommendations for industrial-grade components.
